Museum Mounts

All mounts must support an object safely, but the best also complement that object aesthetically, presenting it in the best possible light.  They can be as simple as a black steel base plate and a post, or as decorative as chromed stainless steel, antiqued brass, or patinated bronze.  The key is to take into account the relation of the mount to the object, and of both to the setting in which they will be placed.

Whether the object is an antique, a work of art, or a sentimental keepsake, my process is the same.  I begin with a discussion of my client's needs, and an assessment of the best way to support the object.  After settling on a design with my client I begin work in my shop, with the object close at hand for reference.  Working with utmost care, I do my best to fashion a mount that is both secure and visually pleasing.

In my years working in this specialized field, I have build custom mounts for everything from jewelry to human-scale stone sculpture, and have worked with galleries, designers, and private collectors.  Whether you want to display a large collection, or just one or two special items, I would be happy to help.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, using the form at the top of this page.
